Event Name: Steel Sports Pain in the Pines Adventure Challenge

Event Date: April 24, 2024

Location: Tyler State Park-Tyler, TX

Comments: The weekend started Friday at Premiere Fitness where packet pick-up was held. Ty arrived early and handed out magazines to the fitness staff. There was a table set up next to registration to hand out goodie bags with sponsor materials and magazines. The athletes showed up that evening and signed up for the “gear giveaway” to be held the next day.

The weather was extremely unfriendly on the morning of the race. Downpours and lightening postponed the event by an hour. Rodney, the race director, was sure to clarify that the postponement was due to lightning not rain.

Upon finishing the race, five teams were greeted with free gear as their names were drawn while they were on the course. Ty rolled out of Tyler Saturday evening only to wake up Sunday and drive the rig to White Rock Lake in Dallas where he handed out magazines and sponsorship promotions to a number of fitness enthusiasts who happened to see the RV while cruising the lake!
