USARA National Championship Site Goes Live

SEPTEMBER 30 -- More than 50 teams are expected to compete in the fifth annual USARA Adventure Race National Championship will be held November 5-6 in French Lick, Indiana. Adventure Sports Magazine is the official publication of the USARA and will be on hand to cover the race for the January/February issue of the magazine. In the meantime, teams and fans can get information about the event at the official race website ( www.usaranationals.com ), which went live earlier this week.

The website was developed through and initiative by the USARA and Global X Racing, the company directing this year's national championship. The site will provide important information for racers leading up to the race and allow their fans to follow the action as it unfolds. Features include news and articles about the event, rules, gear lists, updates from the race director, field reports and images during the race, and a real time online leader board that will display checkpoint data as it is gathered from the course.

"After learning of our great fortune in being chosen to host the 2024 USARA Adventure Race National Championship in Indiana, my partner Jerry Lyons and I decided we wanted to take the race to the next level," said Joe Lawson, co-founder of Global X Racing. "The first thing we knew we needed was a dedicated website that would allow the public, family, friends, sponsors, and fans of adventure racing to follow the race online."

"This new website represents a giant leap forward for the USARA Adventure Race National Championship," commented Paul 'Yak' Angell, the owner of checkpointzero.com and developer of the new website. "The site will allow virtual spectators to follow the action as it happens with images, reports from the course, and a real-time leader board."

Colorado-based Team Salomon USA is the defending USARA National Champion, but it will be tested by a strong field of teams in this year's race. Among those teams already confirmed include Crested Butte (Colorado), Dirtworld.com (Washington), H.A.R.T. (Texas), Litespeed (North Carolina), Outek.com (Wisconsin), Sexe Racing (Texas), Shackleton Endurance (Indiana), Switch (North Carolina) and Tally Ho! (Georgia).
